At last I am back in the UK. Its been a long rotation at work but now that I am home its time to put training into practice. Making use of a good weather window Davie and I went up to clip a few bolts at the local Kirri Hill Quarry. We managed a few hours (mainly catching up on the gossip), the pick of the bunch was ‘Twa Dogs’ (6c) which I managed to get up with one small fall due to a misplaced foot. We also did a handful of 6b’s including ‘Wisdoms Door’ and ‘Hanging by a Thrum hold’ which also produced a good burn. Mainly I was just happy to be back out climbing again and felt happy it was at an amenable grade for having so long off the rock!

Our big trip is now only a week away!! Excited just doesn’t cut it, more info to follow shortly……
