Well what a stressful past two weeks! We were meant to be heading off to Europe last Friday to start our 18 month trip however, we have encountered motorhome problems and these aren’t just minor niggles either but more on that later…..Davie and I took a chance with Ben Nevis on Sunday in the hope of climbing one of the big classics on the Carn Dearg Buttress. We did rope up and start the first pitch of The Bullroar (HVS) but it really was sopping wet which was a shame as the upper pitches looked passable even though there were clearly some wet streaks over the slabs. After a bit of discussion we decided to have a mountaineering day and opted for Route I which is a very traditional VDiff requiring a load of thrutching up slimy chimneys, not one of our best routes but a laugh to be out and about in the hills again.

Today I have again been in motorhome ‘fixing’ mode, looks like it may take about two weeks to get sorted!!!! With a bit of luck and some bloody hard work we are now looking to leave the UK around the 9th September…….
