I have spent over 5 months stripping fat and trying to get light for rock climbing. Since leaving work and getting home 3 weeks ago its been a constant battle to eat less and generally maintain the 64kg limit. Basically this means running as much as possible and using the wall to keep some finger strength whilst waiting for our motorhome to be completed. There are some great routes close to where I live with enough trails to get a couple of 10 mile+ outings. At the wall I’m still stuck on V5. I seem to be able to climb every route upto this grade without too much problem, however, anything harder than 5 seems impossible just now. I’ve never been a boulderer but I’m determined to make better use of my Beal Big Air matt this winter in Spain! Dave and Alan are in Chamonix, hopefully this time next week we will be joining them…..
