No more ‘Frustration’…..
I was back down Lochailort with Kev today in the hope of getting on Frustration, a bold E5 slab route first climbed by Donald King and Mike Pescod. Last time we were here I put a top rope on the line and managed it without too much trouble. I soon realised this particular route is all in the head. It relies on holding it together 15 meters off the ground with just one skyhook for protection, two quick practice goes and it was game on. An initial slip right off the deck only made me concentrate harder, little things like that can really put you off but for me it only enforced the focus. The remainder of the route I felt smooth and confident, even past a sketchy crux past mid-height. It was just the two of us at the crag today so no photo’s unfortunately. Super happy to get another great route in the bag though!
Here’s a link of Kev climbing the same route a few years back………
