Its been a long wait for Sam but today we finally got the desired dry, clear weather she has been waiting for to traverse the Aonach Eagach. Sam was pretty nervous and needed allot of time and coaching to make progress along the ridge especially the sections of downclimbing at the start and after the pinnacles. There were a few tears and shaky moments along the way but overriding these emotions was the knowledge she has just 20 Munro’s left to tick. Conditions were perfect; cool, calm and just a few glimpses of sun so taking our time wasn’t an issue. The ridge itself is clear of snow with just a few lingering patches on Northern aspects. Dry rock the whole way, we only bumped into two other folk including Mark on a day off from the Ice Factor – magic.
