Skye
I have just returned home after a couple of days working for Skye Guides. On Saturday Gavin, Jo and I enjoyed cool but calm weather making an ascent of The Inn Pinn before walking over to Sgurr na Banachdaich. The Pinn was busy as usual with lots of familiar faces all working hard to keep their customers moving up and over the Pinn.
Yesterday provided yet another return to winter, with hail, storm force winds and freezing temperatures. I thought we would chance our arm and head up high whilst most other parties chose to stay low away from the main ridge. I knew we were risking not getting up anything but as it turned out we managed to traverse Sgurr Sgumain & Sgurr Alasdair before escaping down the Great Stone shoot. To be honest it wasn’t all that windy up high, and we managed to fluke a bit of a lull in the weather just as we topped out. A great couple of days in superb company.
