Western Rib

I thought that yesterday was good but today was even better! Wall to wall sunshine, no wind and great conditions underfoot made for a superb days mountaineering on Western Rib (III); Aonach Mor. I was working for Kirkhope Mountaineering again, similar to yesterday we all climbed the same route as two independent teams. We took a slight variation on the initial pitches climbing a rib just to the left of the main line. The guys did really well to keep a steady pace which enabled us to stay away from many of the other teams out enjoying the classic ridges this face has to offer. It was my first time climbing on this side of Aonach Mor and to be honest there was no better day for it. All the spikes and rock belays were once again cleared and where the snow softened good steps were a welcome sight. We topped out by 1pm so made the most of the spectacular views of the Highlands before wandering down a busy ski centre.
