Stunning inversions this week – Sgurr a Mhaim and Glen Nevis

We have been blessed with a long, settled and warm period for the last week or so. The temperatures have taken their toll on the snow and ice but make no mistake there is still plenty of winter left to go at if your prepared to get up a little earlier and climb a little higher. It isn’t the end of winter yet but it certainly feels like Spring is here and a change in direction is imminent.

Since climbing Zero Gully with Rob last Tuesday I have had a couple of days in Glen Nevis back in rock shoes and straight onto unfinished projects. I had a really relaxing day with Kev and Chaela working routes at Scimiter Buttress, and another wandering around the Glen soloing easy routes and scoping out new lines. Its an amazing time of year knowing you can climb steep ice in the morning and climb dry rock in the afternoon. With Spring/Summer work now coming in and Alpine plans developing, I must say I am looking forward to the coming season.
