It’s hard to describe who you are and what you offer in just a few words on a website but by browsing the site and reading my short bio I hope you get a feel of who I am and what I can offer you……
In a past life I had a short career in the Royal Marines after which I was employed within a specialised security team that spent two years in Iraq and a further year in Afghanistan. Experience of working in hostile environments has helped me gain the confidence and perspective to teach and guide many people from their first walk up Ben Nevis to attempting Himalayan summits.
Nowadays I live in Fort William with my fiancé Jane and two Siberian Huskies. Being based in the Outdoor Capital of the UK allows me to deliver mountain instruction & guiding from my doorstep, which in turn means plenty of experience and inspiration passed on to my customers.
I’ve climbed and walked extensively throughout the UK, and been lucky enough to take part in numerous adventurous expeditions to the Himalaya, Africa, Indonesia and European Alps. I stay very active throughout the year which has allowed me to consume many of the perks that climbing has to offer. Some personal favourites include:
- Skye Cuillin Ridge Traverse
- The Rebellion (E6,6b) 2nd ascent
- Spartan Slab (VS,5a)
- Ventriloquist (VII,7)
- Inception (V,7) 1st ascent
- Traverse Aiguille Dorees
- Pellissier Gully Pt Lachenal
- Mount Kenya & Kilimanjaro
- Mera Peak
- Nangpa Goteya 5th recorded ascent
- Costa Blanca (6c+) Penon de Ifac
Working as a mountain professional means being adaptable, inventive, reliable and safe. My aim is to make the most of each day and the prevailing conditions, the goal is to achieve a memorable and valuable experience for you to remember and build on for years to come.
